When an explorer has ‘the meh’…

And this is why everyone should have a meh moment.

Caits World

Bloggers-block, having no inspiration, real-life distractions or just a simple and utter case of  ‘the meh’…I think everyone who has a blog, knows all those feelings.

I, too, experience it every now and then. And it is not because I cannot find places to explore, pics to take and what not…no no, I am doing all that, but simply: cannot get myself to sit and craft a proper blogpost.
When I was new to blogging and the first times this happened to me, I was upset…worried and got anxious. As in : ‘zOMG, I have not blogged in three days…I will lose readers, people may think I stopped blogging!’

After some years of blogging, in both real life and second life, I have come to terms with the occasional ‘meh’. It happens. It is okay. Nobody or their mesh-pets…

Growing Up, Gratitude and the Griefer’s Game

A real shame, really. OM was actually my first follower who got me even more followers and here I am. And all I can say is thank you. I’m glad to have gotten through to OM’s meet and greets and his posts were always amusing.

The Oddity Writer

Yesterday, the final nail was placed in a metaphorical coffin, when influential blogger Jason Cushman left the blogging scene.

Harsh Reality January 3, 2013- April 2015 Harsh Reality
January 3, 2013- May2015 A few days before hand, Jason (better known as Opinionated Man or OM)had closed his site to the public, changed his privacy settings so that only he would be able to access his site. This was done, according to Linda G Hill‘s email from OM himself, so that he could eventually delete the website.

And this is where I break off my journalistic tone and I just speak withmy own voice now. Because I’ve fulfilled my duty, I’ve told you all the facts. But I haven’t finished saying my piece yet.

Where to begin? I guess I would thank OM- no, Mr. Cushman, since he’s older than I am, he deserves that respect- for everything he’s done for all of his followers. He would…

From the First to the Second: WordPress Annual Report 2014 w/ Comments

Thank you Daniel, Diana, Vernon and Jason, blueinsomniak for being my handful of early adopters… when I had almost no content and I didn’t know what I was doing.

To be honest, I still don’t know exactly what I’m doing but my readers are always kind enough to forgive me. A happy new year to you all!

The Oddity Writer

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,400 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 23 trips to carry that many people.

(Daniel’s Notes: And this is where the first year of “The Oddity Writer” ends. 53 posts and 1408 total views, and more than 50 followers across all my platforms.

I know that may not seem like much, but I am amazed that “The Oddity Writer” was able to reach this point, and I am honored to be a part of such a creative, amazing and welcoming community. I owe what success I have to you, and I am so thankful that you found this little blog worth reading.

I would like to thank these people as 2014 closes. Kelzbelzphotography for…

Are you born gay or is it a choice? Scientists might have found the answer · PinkNews.co.uk

This is why ‘sexual preference’ is a misnomer. It signifies a choice. I didn’t specifically choose to be Asian. I just am.

Poem / Poetry – “Hot Little Biscuit”

David Ellis does a great post about remembering song lyrics or a poem of by heart for The Daily Post challenge. What’s something that sticks for you?

toofulltowrite (I've started so I'll finish)

Well hello there brethren.

Inspiration is a funny old thing, I tend to get it from everywhere, particularly when I am not even looking.

I have a soft spot for a band called Electric Six and the lyrics for many of their songs are just so damn funny. I then got thinking what it would be like to write in the style of the hilarious frontman Dick Valentine and this beast was born.

I must also credit Jen Mann for the final piece of inspiration and her “Hot Little Biscuit” photo for helping me to create the final piece of the puzzle – you can check out her excellent blog and buy her amusingly titled book right here:-
